Israel arrests Palestinian physics professor, nine others
RAMALLAH,� The Israeli military arrested early Thursday Najah University physics professor Issam Ashqar, 57, during a raid of his Nablus home, according to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS).
Palestinian security sources said Ashqar was arrested several times in the past.
The PPS said Israeli forces arrested as well three Palestinians from the Jenin district, including two brothers detained at work inside Israel. The brothers are former detainees.
Soldiers also arrested two Palestinians from the Ramallah district, one from the village of Beit Fajjar near Bethlehem, one from Jericho, one from Qattana, east of Jerusalem, and one from Jerusalem who was released from prison only 10 days ago.
