The Hague: In honour of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and his spouse Queen M¡xima hosted an official dinner at the Royal Palace. Prior to the dinner, His Majesty greeted the distinguished guests attending the banquet.
According to Oman News Agency, His Majesty the Sultan delivered a speech highlighting the enduring friendship between Oman and the Netherlands. He expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by the Dutch royal family and highlighted the longstanding cooperation between the two nations, rooted in centuries of maritime trade and exploration.
In his speech, Sultan Haitham emphasized the significance of Suhar Port, a joint venture between Asyad Group and the Port of Rotterdam, as a symbol of the historical ties and collaborative spirit between Oman and the Netherlands. The port stands as a testament to shared commitments in innovation and global trade.
The Sultan also acknowledged Dutch expertise in clean energy and water management, pointing out the ongoing collaboration in green hydrogen production and innovative water solutions. He emphasized the importance of broadening bilateral cooperation to address global challenges and promote peace and stability.
King Willem-Alexander, in his speech, welcomed His Majesty and the accompanying delegation, reiterating the Netherlands’ commitment to expanding partnership and investment across various sectors to foster economic growth in both nations.
The dinner was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying Sultan Haitham and senior officials from the Netherlands.
