Presidential spokesman: We are going to the Security Council to stop Israel

ASHGABAT, TURKMENISTAN, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, said Sunday night that the Palestinian leadership is going to the United Nations Security Council to stop Israel from implementing its recent legislations.

He described the legislations in a statement from Turkmenistan, where he is accompanying Abbas on an official visit, as grave.

Abu Rudeineh was referring to two legislations by an Israeli government committee that called for legalizing settlement outposts built in the occupied territories without government approval, and a decision banning the Muslim call for prayer from mosques’ loudspeakers because they disturb Jewish settlers.

The presidential spokesman warned that such legislation is going to bring disasters to the region.

He also said that Palestine is going to the Security Council and other international institutions to stop this Israeli escalation.
