Abbas calls for urgent Arab league meeting ahead of US embassy transfer

CAIRO, Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, Diab Allouh, Sunday said President Mahmoud Abbas has called for an urgent extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent representatives to counter the US expected relocation of its embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem on Monday.

Allouh told WAFA that practical measures and decisions must be reached during the meeting in order to rise to this unprecedented and catastrophic incident and convey a unified Arab message from the League of Arab States that affirms its serious efforts to reverse the US decision and any other similar decisions taken by other countries that might follow the US suit.
