Abu Dhabi court adjourns MV Arillah pirates’ appeal to Nov. 26

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court today adjourned until Nov 26, the hearing on an appeal filed by convicts, who were sentenced to life imprisonment and deportation for hijacking MV Arrilah-I on April last year.

The lawyer Nashwa Al Qubaisi, appointed by the Ministry of Justice for the plaintiffs, requested the court to defer hearing, in order for her to study the case file and the pleadings in the next session as well as to visit the convicts.

The court has also ordered confiscation of all arms and ammunition used in hijacking of the ship.

MV Arrilah was hijacked on April last year in the Arabian Sea, east of Oman, en route from Australia to Jebel Ali.
