ADNOC Director General Reviews Progress on Offshore Projects

WAM ABU DHABI, 7 March 2013 (WAM): Abdulla Nasser Al-Suwaidi, ADNOC Director General, got acquainted with the progress of work on the artificial Islands and the surface installations being constructed on the off-shore sites of Upper Zakum and Saath Al-Zarboot to cater for the major activities of several projects currently taking place in the two oil fields.

ADNOC Director General and the accompanying senior management team then flew to Das Island to observe progress of the Integrated Gas Development Project (IGD) on the execution ground. The field visit comes as part of ADNOC’s close follow-up on ongoing projects aiming at increasing of UAE’s production of oil and gas.

The accompanying delegation included Mohammed Sahoo Al Suwaidi, ADNOC’s Gas Director, Mohammed S. Al Qubaisi, ADNOC’s HR Director, Awaidha Murshed Al Murar, ADNOC’s Shared Services Director, Ali R. Al-Jarwan, Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), Fahim Kazim, Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS), Ali Saeed Al Mazroui, Senior Vice-President (Admin), ADMA-OPCO and senior executives from ADNOC ‘&’ its Group of Companies.

IGD is a strategic initiative of ADNOC to process and supply gas to meet the growing needs and development plans of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. It includes onshore and offshore packages. It will involve processing an additional 1 Billion scfd of high pressure gas and transporting it from ADMA-OPCO’s offshore Umm Shaif field via a new 46″ diameter pipeline to the ADGAS new IGD facilities at Das Island, where the gas will be conditioned, and sent through the 30″ diameter Offshore Associated Gas (OAG) pipeline to Habshan, ADNOC said in a press release today.

During the visit, a series of meetings were held to discuss issues related to performance enhancement and employee well-fare. Communications meetings held by ADNOC Director General with the Emirati workforce focused on ensuring the well-being of the UAE National employees working on Das Island.

He was keen to hear from UAE Nationals about their concerns in their respective fields, emphasizing ADNOC’s continued support for the company’s Emirati workforce.

“The wellbeing of Emiratis has been and will remain among top priorities of the wise leadership of our country and a key element of strategic planning nationwide,” said ADNOC Director General.

ADNOC ‘&’ Group of Companies have set their Nationalisation drive in full motion in keeping with the directives of the UAE Leadership to dedicate 2013 as the year of Emiratisation.

The visit was part of a regular visiting programme by ADNOC Director General to follow up the progress of work in the current projects executed by ADNOC to ensure their smooth and timely implementation.
