After 20 years in prison, Israel deports ex-Palestinian prisoner Hebron

Israeli occupation authorities deported today ex-Palestinian prisoner Munir Rajabi, who was released today after 20 years in Israeli prisons, from Haifa–where he lived before his imprisonment–to the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said an Israeli army force accompanied Rajabi in his way from Naqab Prison to Hebron, where he was deported shortly following his release.

Rajabi, who holds the resident status of Jerusalem, was arrested in 2003, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. His resident status was revoked by the Israeli occupation authorities in 2019.

More than 4,400 Palestinian prisoners are currently serving prison sentences in Israel for their participation in the resistance of the Israeli occupation of their homeland.
