Clashes break out between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers near Jerusalem and Nablus

JERUSALEM/NABLUS, Clashes broke out between Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers at Qalandia’s army-run crossing, north of Jerusalem, and at the village of Osarin, south of Nablus in the north of the West Bank.

Local sources said youths pelted Israeli soldiers stationed at the Qalandia crossing between Jerusalem to Ramallah

The soldiers fired back rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters causing suffocation but no injuries.

In Osarin, soldiers fired tear gas canisters at youths who clashed with the soldiers at the entrance to the town, which has been closed by the army for more than a month, causing suffocation cases.

The clashes broke out also after an Israeli soldier yesterday shot and killed Ammar Mefleh, who is from Osarin, while in the town of Hawwara as the Israeli army refuses to release his body to his family to bury him.
