COVID-19 deaths and new cases in Palestine down with one death and 93 new cases confirmed in last 24 hours

RAMALLAH, COVID-19 deaths and new cases in Palestine have declined with one death and 93 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said that one death was reported in the Gaza Strip where 55 new cases were confirmed and 200 coronavirus patients have recovered.

The West Bank recorded 38 new cases and 82 recoveries.

Alkaila said 73 COVID-19 patients are currently being hospitalized and 42 are in intensive care while eight patients are on ventilators.

Over 1.4 million people in Palestine have been vaccinated twice against the virus, with over one million in the West Bank and the rest in the Gaza Strip, and only 120,559 have so far received the booster shot, including 103,920 in the West Bank.

Active cases stand now at 0.6 percent of the total COVID-19 cases confirmed since the outbreak in Palestine in March of last year, while 98.4 percent have recovered and 1 percent have died.
