Exports down in July by 7% while imports increased by 5% compared to June; trade deficit up by 8%

RAMALLAH, Exports decreased in July by 7% compared to June, while they increased by 12% compared to July 2021 and reached $122.5 million, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

Exports to Israel decreased in July by 6% compared to June and they represented 92% of total exports in July.

At the same time, exports to other countries decreased by 19% during the same period compared to June.

Imports increased in July by 5% compared to June and increased by 35% compared to July 2021 and reached $ 685 million.

Imports from Israel increased by 11% in July compared to June representing 57% of total imports in July.

On the other hand, imports from other countries decreased by 2% compared to June.

The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed an increase in trade deficit by 8% in July compared to June. It also increased by 42% compared to July 2021 and reached $562.5 million.
