RAMALLAH, Spokesman of Fatah movement and member of its Revolutionary Council, Osama Qawasmi, met today in Ramallah with two US delegations from George Washington and Atlanta universities, where he briefed them on the recent report published by Amnesty International, in which it described the Israeli practices towards Palestinians as “Apartheid”.
A detailed explanation regarding Israel’s racist practices was provided to the two delegations, consisting of 50 students. Qawasmi briefed the two delegations on Israel’s persistence to deepen the occupation and its colonial settlements and all its resulting consequences, including oppression, injustice, killings, confiscation of land, demolition of homes, detention of women and children, in addition to the policy of collective punishment practiced by Israel against the Palestinian people.
He stressed that describing Israel as an apartheid state by international institutions is an accurate translation of Israel’s practices.
Qawasmi talked about the double standard in the application of international law, justice, and humanitarian law toward Ukraine while there is total and disappointing silence in some capitals to what is happening in Palestine.
“Justice, humanitarian law, and international law cannot be fragmented and Israel cannot continue to be unaccountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people,” he said.
