FNC holds meeting

WAM Abu Dhabi, Dec 11th, 2012 (WAM) — The Federal National Council (FNC) today held its third meeting of the second ordinary session of the 15th legislative chapter here in Abu Dhabi under the chairmanship of Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, Speaker of FNC.

The meeting was attended by Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of Federal National Council of Affairs, Dr. Hadef Jowan Al Dhahiri, Minister of Justice and Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State.

In his speech during the meeting, Al-Murr said that UAE’s 41st National Day was celebrated by nationals and residents with great zeal, the celebrations were spread all over the country in a national scene reverberated the true spirit of the union as well as all means of loyalty and belonging for the wise leadership, homeland and for the glorious march of the union.

“This all reminds us of the founding fathers’ efforts particularly the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates for the achievements in all aspects which represents pride for all UAE nationals,” he noted.

He added that His Highness the Head of State’s speech on the National Day has been a roadmap for the next stage in every field as it reflected the true image of the needs and aspirations of citizens and put them in top priorities.

He also referred to UAE President’s Absher Initiative which is aimed at boosting the participation of citizens in the labour market, and provision of decent living conditions to Emiratis.

He pointed out other related initiatives of the president which are meant on fulfilling the housing needs of the citizens, as well as his directives to provide social guarantees for citizens in cases of old age, disability of work, orphan hood, widowhood or unemployment in addition to supporting health policies aiming at directing financial resources to improve basic services for citizens.

Referring to the meeting of Chairmen of the GCC Shura, representatives, National and Ummah Councils in Manama last Saturday, he said that the meeting has succeeded in achieving its goals on the GCC level in the parliamentarian field and supporting the relentless efforts in unifying the bloc legislative system.
