DUBLIN, Ireland’s Foreign Ministry condemned in a tweet the killing of Al-Jazeera’s reporter, Shireen Abu Akleh, in Jenin.

“Media freedom and the safety of journalists must be protected,” said the tweet.

Ireland’s Foreign Ministry expressed its deepest condolences to her family and called for a swift, thorough and independent investigation.
