Israeli forces detain 18 Palestinians from northern West Bank

Israeli forces Friday overnight detained 18 Palestinians from various parts of the occupied West Bank, according to local and security sources.

They said that Israeli forces rounded up 22 Palestinians, all students enrolled in Birzeit University, who were camping at Al-Zarqa spring, close to Aboud village, northwest of Ramallah.

The soldiers eventually released 12 of the detainees.

An army force conducted another raid in Silwad town, east of the city, leading to the detention of two others.

In the northern West Bank, a convoy of Israeli army vehicles stormed Silat al-Harithiya town, west of Jenin city, where the soldiers rounded up a father along with his son.

The gun-toting soldiers showed up at a house in Jaba‘ town, south of the city, muscled inside, and detained a father as a means to force his son to turn himself in to Israeli intelligence.

The sources confirmed a similar raid in Kafr Ra’i village, southwest of the city, resulting in the detention of another.

In Nablus district, an army force barged its way into Beita town, south of the city, detained a resident and ransacked his family house, turning it upside down.

The soldiers conducted a similar raid in the nearby village of Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, resulting in the detention of another.

Meanwhile, a military force raided the southern West Bank town of Idhna, west of Hebron, where the soldiers ransacked several houses, turning them topsy-turvy.
