Israeli forces quell rally south of Nablus

NABLUS, Sunday, Israeli forces attacked on Sunday hundreds of activists who were taking part in a rally in support of Jerusalem at Huwwara checkpoint, on the southern entrance to Nablus city in the West Bank, according to local sources.

Soldiers manning the checkpoint fired rubber-coated bullets and teargas canisters at the protesters to disperse them, causing many cases of suffocation from gas inhalation.

There were no reports of arrests.
