Israeli police detain activists protesting demolition of Salhia homes

JERUSALEM, The Israeli occupation police arrested tonight five Palestinians and solidarity activists in Jerusalem.

They were arrested during a sit-in organized in front of the house of the mayor of the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, to denounce the demolition of the Salhia family’s home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

Dozens of activists also organized a sit-down in front of the Russian Compound interrogation center in West Jerusalem to demand the release of members of the Salhia family and solidarity activists who were arrested by the Israeli occupation forces today at dawn when the occupation forces stormed the homes of the Salhia family in Sheikh Jarrah, east of occupied Jerusalem, before demolishing them.
