Israeli settler places structures on a Palestinian land near Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, A colonial Israeli settler placed residential structures today on a Palestinian land near the Bedouin village of Rashaida, to the east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Jumaa Rashaida, the mayor of the village, told WAFA that an Israeli settler set up a caravan and erected six tents and two water tankers on the land as if it were his own, adding that the settler had previously carried out levelling works in the same land.

He said the Israeli occupation forces frequently deny access of Palestinian shepherds to graze their sheep in the area.

There are over 650,000 colonial Israeli settlers living in Jewish-only settlements across the West Bank in violation of international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention which expressly bans the relocation of the occupying power’s civilian population to the land of the occupied.
