Israeli settlers damage stocks, seize agricultural equipment near Tulkarm

TULKARM, A group of Israeli settlers today damaged the content of a Palestinian-owned agricultural storehouse, and seized agricultural equipment in the village of Shufa to the southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm.

Tahseen Hamed, the owner of the storehouse, told WAFA that three settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Avni Hefetz broke into the warehouse, damaged its contents, seized agricultural equipment, poured an unknown substance into an irrigation well and punctured the water tanks that he uses to irrigate crops.

He added that this attack is not the first, as farmers are frequently attacked by settlers who used to break into the agricultural lands of the village, release their sheep, prevent Palestinians from grazing livestock and force them to leave at gunpoint.

Violence and vandalism by Israeli settlers are commonplace in the occupied West Bank, and is never prosecuted by the occupation authorities.

Attacks by settlers against Palestinians particularly intensified during the last few months, with Israeli occupation army turning a blind eye to the violence spree and providing the settlers with protection.
