RAMALLAH, Under the patronage and in the presence of Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, today Finance Minister Shukri Bishara and Ambassador of Japan for Palestinian Affairs, Masayuki Magoshi, signed an agreement to grant the Palestinian Authority (PA) $10 million in budget support.
Shtayyeh stressed the importance of this grant which will be allocated to budget support, and which he stated is part of Japan’s continued support for Palestine to build resilient Palestinian institutions, enhance services to the Palestinian people, and advance the institutions towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and the right of return for refugees.
The premier extended his thanks and appreciation to Japan for its ongoing support to Palestine.
For his part, the Ambassador of Japan for Palestinian Affairs affirmed his country’s continued support to the Palestinian people and government, and continuous joint work with the Palestinian government, civil institutions, municipalities, and the private sector to reach the goal of building the institutions of the Palestinian state, and to continue building bridges of cooperation and strengthening the Japanese-Palestinian friendship.
