ANTALYA, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki, briefed today his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg on the latest political developments in the Palestinian arena.
During a meeting on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, Al-Maliki briefed Schallenberg on the continuous barbaric violations of the Israeli occupation, the ongoing settlement expansion, field executions, and the illegal forced displacement of Palestinians.
He thanked Austria for its firm stance in support of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the two-state solution on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Maliki valued the Austrian support to Palestine, in favor of the budget of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which will contribute to maintaining the agency’s work and the continuity of providing services to all Palestinian refugees.
For his part, Schallenberg affirmed his keenness to communicate with his Palestinian counterpart to discuss all issues of mutual interest and promote bilateral relations.
He stressed Austria’s unchanged political position regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on international resolutions, international law, and the two-state solution through direct negotiations.
