“This initiative is in line with the ministry’s vision to reach various segments of the community, especially school students, considering that they represent a very important category of the society and are the potential leaders of tomorrow who will take forward the process of building a prosperous community,” said Dr. Saeed Al Ghafli, Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs at the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs.
Explaining the reason for selecting a girls’ school for the initiative, Dr. Al Ghafli said the Ministry supports women’s empowerment and is looking forward to enhancing the Emirati woman’s role in political life.
Mariam Al Hammadi, principal of the school, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs for its important role in disseminating and promoting a culture of political participation, through the implementation of effective awareness activities and programmes.
The lecture organised by the Ministry highlighted aspects such as the role of the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs, and the nature of political participation in the UAE as well as Sheikh Khalifa Political Empowerment Programme. The lecture also showcased the Ministry’s initiatives through a film on the 2011 elections.
