Mohammed bin Zayed receives Italian Prime Minister

WAM Abu Dhabi, 20 Nov. 2012 (WAM) — His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received this evening at Al Bateen Palace the visiting Italian Prime Minister, Mario Monti, and his accompanying delegation.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Monti and his entourage, expressing his hope the visit would boost the distinguished cooperation and friendly relations between the UAE and Italy for the best interest of the two countries and their peoples.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for regular exchange of official visits to closely explore potential opportunities for joint cooperation and to share views and ideas on expanding trade and investment exchange.

At the meeting, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Italian premier reviewed a broad range of issues of mutual interest.

For his part, Mr. Monti said he was delighted at visiting the UAE as part of his regional tour, and at having talks today with President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

He also praised the outstanding bilateral relations, which he said, receive proper attention of his government.

He said Italy was looking forward to broader joint partnership that satisfies ambitions of Emirati-Italian leaderships. The Italian Prime Minister also hailed the UAE’s great achievements.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and a number of top government officials and members of the delegation accompanying the Italian Prime Minister.
