JERICHO, The Israeli military government today ordered the demolition of seven Palestinian-owned homes in an area of al-Diyok al-Tahta village, west of the ancient West Bank city of Jericho, days after five other homes in the same area had also received demolition orders, according to a local activist.
Issam Samrat, a member of Fatah movement, told WAFA that soldiers posted the demolition orders on the walls of these homes claiming they were built on so-called Israel state land even though they are in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Some 20 Palestinian families live in the same area, with seven of them already receiving Israeli demolition orders.
At least 1300 people live in al-Diyok village itself and live from farming.
