RAMALLAH, – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today highlighted the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites located in occupied Jerusalem, by Israeli police and Jewish fanatics.

“Hundreds of settlers storm Al-Aqsa and attack (Muslim) worshippers,” headlined al-Quds daily.

“Major storming of Al-Aqsa, detentions, attacks against the people, restrictions, and banishment,” said the headline in al-Ayyam daily.

“Occupation mania in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa,” headlined the third daily al-Hayat al-Jadida.

The three dailies also printed Palestinian, Arab and Muslim reactions to the Israeli intrusion into Al-Aqsa Mosque, which condemned the behavior of the Israeli police against the Muslim worshippers while allowing the Jewish fanatics to have a free hand in the Mosque compound.

In addition to this, the dailies reported on the confrontations between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces in East Jerusalem neighborhoods such as Silwan, al-Tur and Isawiyya.

In other news, al-Quds said positive changes will be soon felt at the Jordan River bridge crossing between the West Bank and Jordan that would facilitate movement of the Palestinian travelers.

It also said Syria supports the right of the Palestinians to liberate their lands and full membership for Palestine in the United Nations.

Al-Ayyam said 30 Palestinian administrative detainees in Israel continue their hunger strike in protest against their incarceration without charge or trial.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said activists and media personalities called on leaders of Arab football teams taking part in the FIFA World Cup tournaments to wear the colors of the Palestinian flag.

It reported on the weekly cabinet meeting and said the ministers of labor and higher education were instructed to mediate in the conflict between the employees and administration at Birzeit University that has crippled education at the university for more than a month.

Al-Ayyam said Birzeit University board of trustees decided to shut down the university and the campus for one week.

In international news, the papers reported on the accession of the far right to power in Italy, the conflict over the Ukraine war, and the decline in the value of the Euro and British pound against the US dollar.
