Palestine logs 192 COVID cases, four deaths

RAMALLAH, Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 192 new cases of COVID-19, four deaths and 629 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.

In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said two deaths from COVID-19 were registered in the Gaza Strip, while only one death was recorded in the West Bank. East Jerusalem also recorded one death from COVID.

A total of 1,412 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the reporting period, with the exclusion of East Jerusalem. In the Gaza Strip, 84 coronavirus tests came out positive, while the West Bank had 63 new cases. East Jerusalem had 45 new cases.

The Health Minister said that in the West Bank, 58 patients of COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, of whom 32 are in intensive care.

She pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.4 percent, while active cases declined to 0.7 percent. Deaths stood at 0.9 percent of total infections.
