BANGKOK, For the first time in its history, the national Palestinian beach soccer team was able to advance to the semi-finals in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Beach Soccer Championships, which kicked off in Thailand on March 7.
Palestine defeated Lebanon 4 to 3 in the quarter-finals played today to play against Japan in the semi-finals. The winner of that game will advance to the finals.
The best three teams will qualify to play in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019, which will be held in Paraguay.
