RAMALLAH, Palestine today recorded 212 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Al-Kaileh.
She announced that 212 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and two others died of it in the occupied territories.
Among the new 212 cases, 102 cases were recorded in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and 110 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Al-Kaileh identified the deaths as one death from the West Bank district of Hebron and another from the besieged Gaza Strip.
She added that 383 Covid-19 patients recovered; 273 recovery cases in the West Bank and 110 others in the Gaza Strip.
She pointed that 55 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including 13 who are connected to ventilators, while 114 others are currently hospitalized across the West Bank.
Recoveries account for 97.5 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 1.4 percent and the death toll accounts for 1.1 percent.
Regarding the Covid-19 vaccination rollout, al-Kaileh said that 282,759 people have received the vaccine so far; 243,947 vaccinated people in the West Bank and 38,812 others in Gaza. Meanwhile, 197,189 people received the second dose of the vaccine.
