Palestine records 260 new Covid-19 cases, seven deaths

RAMALLAH, Palestine today recorded 260 new Covid-19 cases and seven deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.

She announced that 260 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and seven others died of it in the occupied territories.

As part of the 260 new cases, 101 cases were registered in the West Bank and 159 others in the Gaza Strip.

She said that three of the seven death cases were recorded in the Gaza Strip and the four others in the West Bank.

She added that 432 Covid-19 patients recovered; 99 recovery cases in the West Bank and 333 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that 46 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units and 83 others are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, including 11 who are on ventilators.

She said that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.2 percent and the active cases account for 0.8 percent. The death toll stood at 1 percent of total infections.
