Premier condemns killing of a Palestinian lawyer in an Israeli military raid of Nablus city

RAMALLAH, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh today condemned the killing of a lawyer in an Israeli military raid in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Shtayyeh decried the killing of 34-year-old Mohammad Hassan Assaf, an attorney with the Wall and Settlements Resistance Commission, after being shot by Israeli forces in the chest, describing it as a crime.

Israeli forces gunned down Assaf, a father of three, and injured 31 others in Nablus and the nearby towns of Beita, al-Lubban al-Sharqiya, and Urif, south of Nablus, including 10 people by live fire, six by rubber-coated bullets and 13 by tear gas.

Shtayyeh said that the Israeli occupation soldiers continue to murder Palestinians for the sake of murder, particularly since they are given a license to kill by Israeli Premier Naftali Bennett with a total disregard for international laws and conventions.

He held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the daily crimes against the Palestinian people.
