President Abbas discusses developments with his Egyptian counterpart

CAIRO, Saturday, President Mahmoud Abbas met on Saturday his Egyptian counterpart, Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi, in Cairo where they discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and in Palestine, particularly in light of the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.

Abbas praised Egypt’s efforts and the importance of continuing coordination and contact between their countries.

The two leaders also discussed ways to reinforce mutual relations between Palestine and Egypt and their peoples.

Attending the meeting was Mahmoud al-Habbash, Abbas’ advisor on Islamic affairs, in addition to Abbas’ advisor on diplomatic affairs, Majdi Khalidi, and Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt, Diab al-Louh as well as Yasser Abbas.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and the head of the Egyptian intelligence, General Abbas Kamal, also attended the meeting.
