President Abbas offers in-person condolences on death of president Khalifa

ABU DHABI, President Mahmoud Abbas headed today morning to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to offer condolences on behalf of the Palestinian government and people on the death of the UAE’s president, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

President Abbas, leading a Palestinian delegation, offered his condolences to the new president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the death of President Khalifa.

President Abbas also congratulated Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his election as the new UAE president.

The delegation included member of the PLO’s Executive Committee and Fatah’s Central Committee and the head of the General Authority of Civil Affairs in the Palestinian Authority, Hussein al-Sheikh, General Intelligence chief, Majid Faraj, President Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi Khaldi, president’s advisor, Mustafa Abu al-Rob, and the Chargé d’Affairs of the State of Palestine, Hamdan Nazzal.
