President Abbas receives phone call from Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh

RAMALLAH, President Mahmoud Abbas received today a phone call from Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, during which the president expressed his support and blessing for all exerted efforts that affirm the unity of the Palestinian position in facing schemes and measures aimed at liquidating the Palestinian issue and depriving the Palestinian people of their legitimate rights.

This call came during a meeting between Haniyeh and his accompanying delegation with Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Lebanon, Ashraf Dabour, and Fatah leadership responsible for the Lebanese arena, at Embassy of Palestine in the capital Beirut.

Haniyeh said that this meeting sends a message of unity, steadfastness, and rejection of all plans and attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue.

He said that Fatah, Hamas, and all Palestinian factions are in the same boat, and will not allow the Palestinian issue to become a bridge for the recognition and normalization with the Israeli occupation at the expense of the Palestinian national rights, Jerusalem, and the right to return.
