President receives Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister

WAM Al Ain, Nov 8th, 2012 (WAM) — President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan received this afternoon at Al Rawda Palace in Al Ain the visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashit Meredow.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi, were also present.

Sheikh Khalifa welcomed the Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister, expressing his desire for further development and growth in relations between the two countries.

Meredow conveyed to Sheikh Khalifa the greetings of Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.

On his part, Sheikh Khalifa reciprocated the Turkmen President’s greetings, wishing him good health and happiness and expressing his hope that the friendly people of Turkmenistan would enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

The UAE President stressed the country’s eagerness to strengthen and develop cooperation and bilateral investment between the two countries.

The meeting also reviewed cooperation and the existing friendly relations between the two countries and means of strengthening them in addition to discussing the latest international developments.

For his part, the Turkmen official praised the comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa.

The meeting was attended by H. H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin ZayedAl Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Mohammed bin Dhaen Al Hamili, Minister of Energy, and Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs in addition to a number of other sheikhs and senior officials.
