Representative Office of India celebrates 7th International Day of Yoga in Palestine

Representative Office of India celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga at the landmark Hilltop of Rawabi City, West Bank, in association with Rawabi City, Beit Al- Shams Center for Self Development, and Karma Center, said a press release issued by the representative office of India.

A separate function was also organized in Gaza Strip in association with the Positive Energy Center for Youth, where enthusiasts performed yoga at the Gaza Beach.

Addressing the gathering in Rawabi, Representative of India Mukul Arya welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of spreading the culture and awareness of yoga in different communities.

The representative of India underlined the relevance of yoga since it leads the way to a calm, creative, and content life by defeating tensions and mindless anxiety.

The participants included officials, representatives of the civil society, yoga practitioners/enthusiasts, and local media and press.

It is worth noting that in recognition of Yoga’s importance, on December 11, 2014, the United Nations declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga, following the resolution presented by India and co-sponsored by 177 countries. The International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually by member countries of the United Nations with great enthusiasm.
