Settlers attack herder in Hebron, vehicles in Jericho

Extremist Israeli settlers today attacked sheep herders near the town of Ad-Dhahiriya, to the southeast of Hebron, as well as passing cars near the village of Al-Muarrajat, near Jericho, according to local sources.

Fayez Zanuta, head of the village council of Zanuta, near the town of Ad-Dhahiriya, told WAFA that a group of extremist Israeli settlers attacked herders while grazing their sheep in the vicinity of the village, forcing them to leave the area.

Meantime, Hasan Mlehat, a Palestinian activist based in the village of Al-Muarrajat, to the west of Jericho, told WAFA that settlers attacked with stones Palestinian vehicles passing on the Ramallah-Jericho road, which is adjacent to the village. No injuries were reported.

These are the latest in an unprecedented wave of settler terrorism across the occupied West Bank.

Last week, thousands of settlers raided the Palestinian village of Huwwara, south of Nablus, killing a humanitarian activist and setting hundreds of vehicles and homes on fire.
