Settlers plow land north of Jericho in a prelude to confiscate it

JERICHO, Illegal Israeli settlers embarked today on plowing a 100-dunum Palestinian state-owned land near the village of Al-Jiftlik, to the north of Jericho, local sources said.

Ahmad Ghawanmeh, mayor of the village, told WAFA that a group of settlers embarked on plowing the land in preparation for its cultivation and subsequent confiscation, although the land is classified as state property.

There are over 600,000 Israeli settlers illegally occupying portions of the West Bank in violation of international law and established norms prohibiting the relocation of the occupying power’s civil population to the land of the occupied.
