Tawazun to showcase its latest UAE-made products at IDEF 2013

WAM ABU DHABI, 7th May, 2013 (WAM) — Tawazun is getting ready to showcase innovative products and solutions created by its group of companies at the 11th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2013), a large rendezvous for the world’s defense industries being held in the Istanbul, Turkey, from today until 10th May.

Tawazun’s stand at IDEF 2013 will feature sections for different groups of companies including Tawazun Dynamics, Jobaria Defense systems, Nimr Automotive, Caracal International, Tawazun Advanced Defense Systems, Burkan Munitions and Caracal Light Ammunitions.

Chief Executive Officer, Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri, said that Tawazun is stepping up its offerings at IDEF 2013 with several companies of the group set to showcase their latest “Made in UAE” products and solutions.

“Visitors to IDEF 2013 will have glimpses of the innovative and top-of-the-line products and technologies developed and manufactured by companies of the group, serving the various defense and homeland security requirements,” added Al Hajeri.

He noted that IDEF 2013 will also be an opportunity to highlight the company’s vision for supporting UAE’s ongoing economic development drive and its unrelenting focus on economic diversification, sustainability, technology transfer and partnerships.

Al Hajeri continued: “At Tawazun, we are working closely with our counterparts in Turkey to ensure the long-term development of the UAE’s industrial manufacturing sector. Our two countries have a shared vision for technology transfer and industrial cooperation, a vision which will benefit both countries enormously in the future.” His statement concluded: “We are privileged to count Turkey among the many nations with which we are aligned, as a partner and as a friend. For this reason, we are always seeking new opportunities, new partners, and new horizons.” The UAE is Turkey’s second largest trade partner in the Middle East region after Iraq and the first 8 months of 2012 saw a significant growth in bilateral trade between the UAE and Turkey to AED 33.3 billion (US$ 9.1 billion).

IDEF 2013 is being held under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, in collaboration with the Tuyap Fairs ‘&’ Exhibitions Organization, bringing together leading companies of the defense industry in the fields of land, sea, air ‘&’ space, transportation, logistics, support ‘&’ material supplies and tools ‘&’ equipment.

Delegates from 104 countries, including 110 official delegations and 633 exhibitors, are expected to attend IDEF 2013, seen as one of the world’s biggest events for defense industry and procurement.
