RAMALLAH, The three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today highlighted the formation of the Unified National Leadership for Popular Resistance with a goal to lead popular resistance in the occupied territories against the Israeli occupation and to protest normalization of relations between Arab states and Israel.
Al-Quds daily said the unified leadership announced its program to face the so-called deal of the century and normalization.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida daily said the leadership called in its first communique to raise the Palestinian flag in rejection of the “agreement of shame on black Tuesday,” in reference to the signing of the normalization agreement between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Israel in Washington tomorrow.
The third daily, al-Ayyam, reported on the formation of the unified leadership but led with reports about popular organizations in Bahrain rejecting the normalization plan.
It said Oman has welcomed the Bahraini normalization of relations with Israel.
In other news, the Coronavirus pandemic occupied a section of the front page of the dailies, which said 12 people have died, 811 new cases were recorded and 370 patients have recovered in Palestine in the past 24 hours.
Al-Ayyam said the Palestinian Ministry of Interior has warned that there may be a return to full lockdown at any moment as the coronavirus cases keep rising.
Al-Quds said Israel, which reported 18 deaths and over 3000 new cases yesterday, is going on a three-week lockdown starting Friday at noon.
Al-Quds highlighted Israeli plans to build 980 new settlement units south of Bethlehem, in the south of the occupied West Bank.
Al-Ayyam said Jewish fanatics have forced their way into Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem while settlers have carried out attacks in the Jordan Valley and in the Jenin district in the north of the West Bank.
