Weather forecast: Partly cloudy skies, Rise of temperature

RAMALLAH, Weather today is partly cloudy to cloudy and mild in daytime with a rise of temperature, which approaches 2°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Weather tonight is partly cloudy to cloudy and cold, particularly in the mountains. Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly wind blows in daytime, while light to moderate northwesterly wind blows in the night. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 12°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 15°C and a low of 11°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 25°C and a low of 15°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 15°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Wednesday’s temperature is set to slightly drop and become seasonal, paving the way to partly cloudy and relatively cold to cold conditions, particularly in the mountains. Occasional rain showers are expected in nighttime on the center and north.

A low pressure and a cold front are set to hit the region on Thursday, causing temperature to plummet to 4°C below the seasonal average and paving the way to partly cloudy to cloudy and cold to very cold conditions, particularly in the mountains. Sporadic rain showers along with occasional thunderstorms and hail are expected.

A further drop of temperature is expected on Friday, approaching 8°C below the seasonal average and paving the way to partly cloudy to cloudy and very cold conditions, especially in the mountains. Occasional rain showers along with isolated thunderstorms and hail are expected.

PMD warns people against gusty wind, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility on Thursday and Friday.
