Weather: Rain, thunderstorms, cold conditions

RAMALLAH, The effects of the low pressure front which affected Palestine yesterday are expected to remain on Sunday, with a slight rise in temperature setting back to 5°C below the seasonal average. Relatively cold to cold conditions are expected, and sporadic rain showers with occasional thunderstorms are expected in most districts, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southwesterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and sea waves are medium.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and in Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 10°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 14°C and a low of 9°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 25°C and a low of 16°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 14°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A further slight rise in temperature is expected on Monday, which remains 4°C below the annual average with a low chance for sporadic rain in some districts.

Another rise in temperature is expected on Tuesday to approach 2°C below the seasonal average, said the PMD, which warned people against low horizontal visibility, slippery roads and flash floods in low areas and valleys for Sunday.

Temperature rises further on Wednesday approaching its normal seasonal average.
