Eighteen people were killed in two armed attacks in Beni, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Local authorities said the attacks were carried out by an armed group, and resulted in the death of 18 people and the disappearance of 17 others. The security situation in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo remains "fragile" in light of the increasing activity of armed groups based on the common border with Uganda. Source: Oman News Agency
