Including a child – 3 injuries by occupation bullets during the storming of Balata camp


Three citizens, including a child, were injured by Israeli occupation forces’ bullets during a raid on Balata camp, east of Nablus.

Medical sources reported that ambulance crews dealt with 3 injuries, including a child (14 years old), who was shot with live bullets by the occupation forces in the thigh, hand and foot, in the vicinity of Balata camp, and they were transferred to the hospital.

Al-Rahi, Semeraro unveil statue of Maronite monastic orders founders in Ehden

Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, and President of the Congregation of Saints in Rome, Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, unveiled today the statue of the founders of the Maronite monastic orders, which was placed at the entrance of the Mar Mora Monastery, where the monastic orders were founded at the request of Blessed Patriarch Estephan Douaihy.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the head of the “Independence Movement”, MP Michel Moawad, a number of Maronite bishops, the general superiors of the monastic orders, and a crowd of believers from the region.

The statue was donated by Zgharta’s expatriate Joseph Halabi and sculpted by artist Nayef Alwan. This celebration comes within the program of activities of the parish in Ehden for the beatification of Patriarch Douaihy.

Bahrain condemns terrorist attack on hotel in Somali capital

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu, which led to a number of deaths and injuries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised the Kingdom’s rejection of terrorism and violence, affirming that these criminal acts contradict international laws and moral and humanitarian values.

It also expressed Bahrain’s solidarity with Somalia and its support for its measures to maintain its security and stability, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the Somali government, and its people.

Army: 23 people arrested while planning to illegally infiltrate via sea in the northern town of al-Bireh

Lebanese Army Command’s Orientation Directorate issued a communiqué this afternoon, in which it indicated that “an army unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided the homes of wanted persons in the town of al-Bireh in the North, and arrested 4 citizens and 19 Syrians while they were planning to infiltrate illegally by sea.”

The communiqué added that a military weapon and a quantity of ammunition and military equipment were found in their possession, whereby the seized items were handed over to the concerned sides while investigations with the detainees were initiated under the supervision of the concerned judiciary.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s real estate sector continued to thrive and attract investment during the first half of 2024, supported by the country’s economic and financial stability, and the launch of new world-class projects to meet the rising demand for various property units.

According to a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), major real estate companies in the country have launched a significant number of large-scale projects since the beginning of this year, providing a diverse range of investment options that offer strong opportunities for investors and those aspiring to live and work in the UAE.

The real estate sector in the UAE is expected to continue on an upward trajectory in 2024, with the government and the private sector launching new real estate and infrastructure projects across the country.

Real estate projects launched in 2024 comprise several residential and commercial complexes and towers, as well as office spaces to keep up with the increase in the number of companies and projects. Dubai t
ook the largest share of new real estate projects, with over 12 new projects launched by companies, such as Emaar, Deyaar, and Dubai Investments, in addition to the expansion of The Dubai Mall.

Kuwait: The price of Kuwaiti oil went down USD 1.36 to USD 80.47 pb on Friday, compared to USD 81.83 pb the day before, said Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) on Saturday.

On a global scale, the price of Brent Crude futures contracts went down USD 2.17 to settle at USD 76.81 pb, as did West Texas Intermediate crude, down USD 2.79 to USD 73.52 pb, the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) reported.
