Syria today condemned the Israeli Knesset’s decision against the establishment of a Palestinian state, considering that it “embodies the true intentions of establishing Greater Israel.” The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement today that "this decision represents a contradiction with the principle of achieving just and comprehensive peace in the region, which constitutes a serious threat to security and stability there." The Foreign Ministry added, "Syria stresses its rejection of these shameful decisions and the support provided by the United States of America and some Western countries to the Zionist entity," reiterating "the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national soil."
