Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati chaired a ministerial meeting today at his residence to follow up on the latest field developments in the south. The meeting was attended by Ministers Abdallah Bou Habib, Henri Khoury, Firas Abiad, Nasser Yassin, Amin Salam, Ali Hamieh, Walid Fayyad, and President of the Council of the South Hashem Haidar, and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council, Major General Mohammad Mustafa. The attendees discussed the situation in the south and emergency services in the health, shelter, food, fuel, and supply sectors, as well as the readiness of emergency cells in the regions, in addition to the results of contacts with relevant international organizations and civil society organizations that are part in implementing the emergency plan. During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that he is "holding a series of contacts with Lebanon's friends to stop the escalation," considering that what is required is to stop the Israeli aggression first and implement Resolution 1701. Mikati also underscored "Lebanon's position in support of international efforts that could lead to a ceasefire in Gaza." Source: National News Agency - Lebanon
