Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi pointed out that "we all lose in war, which is why negotiations must be adopted," noting that the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah "has reopened a wound among the Lebanese." Patriarch Rahi added: "The Lebanese have paid a heavy price for deviating from the National Pact," affirming that "Lebanon will only be able to fulfill its mission through positive neutrality."
