Oman, India Review Means of Boosting Economic Cooperation

Muscat: Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, today received Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India, at the Invest Oman lounge. The meeting was part of the 11th session of the joint Omani-Indian Committee held in Muscat.

According to Oman News Agency, the two sides discussed areas of cooperation in technology, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and infrastructure. They also considered ways to attract Indian investments to Oman. Both ministers emphasized the importance of the committee session as a strategic platform for enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The ministers noted the prosperity of economic relations between Oman and India. The trade exchange between the two countries in 2023 reached RO 2.05 billion, while Indian investments in Oman totaled RO 298.8 million.

Additionally, the Indian delegation toured the Invest Oman lounge and were introduced to the services offered to investors, along with the significant investment opportunities available in Oman.

The meeting was attended by several officials from both sides.
