New York: The Sultanate of Oman, through its Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, is set to participate in the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025, which will be held in New York City, USA, from April 14-17, 2025. The forum is organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
According to Oman News Agency, the forum, themed ‘Youth at the Forefront: Harnessing Science and Social Inclusion for Sustainable Development,’ aims to explore pathways for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in alignment with the UN’s 2030 Agenda. The event will spotlight global experiences in critical areas such as health, sustainable oceans, science and technology, and regional development. Discussions will focus on enhancing sustainable economic growth and formulating recommendations to empower youth in shaping goals and priorities within sustainable development programs that resonate with their aspirations. Young participants will lead high-level discussions, engaging in dialogues with heads of delegations, representatives of UN member states, and experts in global economic and social policy.
This year marks Oman’s third consecutive participation in the forum, highlighting the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth’s dedication to involving Omani youth in international dialogues. The forum provides a platform for empowering youth and introducing them to global practices in comprehensive development and sustainable economic initiatives.
