Oman and EU Explore New Avenues for Strengthened Cooperation

Brussels: The third high-level officials' meeting between the Sultanate of Oman and the European Union took place in Brussels, targeting the exploration of cooperation across multiple sectors of mutual interest. These sectors include trade, investment, fisheries exports, education, training, renewable green energy, and environmental and tourism collaboration.

According to Oman News Agency, the Omani delegation was led by Ambassador Munthir Mahfoudh Al Mandhari, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry. The European delegation was represented by Anna-Maria Panagiotakopoulou, Head of the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, and Regional Policies Division at the European External Action Service.

The meeting saw the participation of Ru'aa Issa Al Zadjali, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission to the European Union, along with representatives from various Omani government bodies and officials from the European External Action Service and the European Commission.

In a related engagement, Ambassador Al Mandhari held discussions with Michael Karnitschnig, Deputy Director-General and Head of the Gulf Office at the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Middle East and Gulf. The discussions centered around enhancing bilateral relations between Oman and the European Union to serve collective interests.
