UNRWA Warns of Life-Saving Humanitarian Aid Perishing at Gaza Border

Muscat: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that life-saving humanitarian aid stuck in warehouses outside the Gaza Strip is at risk of spoilage due to Israel's closure of the crossings and its denial of entry since 2 March 2025, in a continuation of the genocide it has been perpetrating for 19 months.

According to Oman News Agency, the UN agency highlighted that essential supplies, including food, hygiene supplies, medicines, and shelter materials, remain blocked from reaching those in need due to the ongoing blockade.

The UNRWA stated in a post that the closure of crossings has put the aid at risk of expiring, emphasizing the critical nature of the situation. The blockade has resulted in food that cannot be consumed and medicine that cannot be administered to the affected population, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.

UNRWA has confirmed that its teams and trucks are prepared to deliver the necessary aid to individuals in Gaza who are in desperate need. The agency continues to call for immediate action to facilitate the entry of these vital supplies to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
