Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman witnessed intensive diplomatic activity yesterday, Sunday, as part of peaceful efforts to de-escalate regional tensions resulting from Israel's illegal aggression against Iranian territory. His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received two phone calls from Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Trkiye. According to Oman News Agency, the diplomatic efforts included an exceptional meeting between Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, and his German counterpart, who visited Muscat. The discussions addressed the volatile regional situation due to ongoing Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran, which targeted vital sovereign facilities, resulting in numerous casualties. The talks also covered the ongoing destruction, violence, displacement, and genocide in the Gaza Strip. The two sides exchanged perspectives, as Sayyid Badr highlighted Israel's violations of international laws and co nventions, including breaches of state sovereignty. He emphasized the two-state solution and the need to expand international recognition of the Palestinian state. Both sides stressed the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to support peaceful solutions and restore stability. Within the same context, the Foreign Minister continues his series of intensive phone calls with counterparts from Arab, Islamic, and friendly nations, aiming to mobilize political and legal pressure to halt Israeli aggression. The discussions underscored the necessity of rallying international efforts to counter Israel's violations of international law, which risk exacerbating the regional crisis. They reaffirmed that diplomatic solutions remain the only path to achieving security and peace.
